Glazed in erie blue, a deep color that shifts with the light, the Cielo set echoes the calm expanse of the sea and the vastness of the sky. The dipping bowl was made with porcelain and went through atmospheric firing with soda ash, after being glazed inside with the same erie blue as the pods.
This set brings together three delicate hand-built whale pods—each shaped and glazed individually—and one small dipping bowl. Use the whale pods as chopstick rests, let the small bowl hold shoyu, sesame oil, or whatever sauce completes your meal. A quiet nod to the sea, to ritual, and to the beauty in small things shared.
